calcium carbonate, Calcite, Use of Calcium Carbonate (CaCO₃)

Product Overview

Calcium Carbonate CaCO3

Calcium Carbonate (Calcite) is a chemical compound with the formula CaCO₃.

It is a common substance found in rocksas the minerals calcite and aragonite. Calcium Carbonate CaCO₃ is the active ingredient in agricultural lime and is created when calcium ions in hard waterreact with carbonate ions to create limescale.

It is medicinally used as a calcium supplement or as an antacid, but excessive consumption can be hazardous.

Calcite is a white, odorless powder or colorless crystals. Practically insoluble in water. Occurs extensive in rocks world wide. Ground Calcite (CAS: 1317-65-3) results directly from the mining of limestone.

Precipitated Calcium Carbonate is purer than ground Calcite CaCO₃ and has different (and tailorable) handling properties. The extraction process keeps the carbonate very close to its original state of purity and delivers a finely ground product either in dry or slurry form.

Precipitated CaCO₃ is produced industrially by the decomposition of limestone to calcium oxide followed by subsequent recarbonization or as a by product of the Solvay process (which is used to make sodium carbonate). The companies usually use the Calcite for drilling, medical, filler, paint & etc.

Packing

Calcite will be packed in bag 25kg palletized or in Jumbobag 1000kg.
