A highly pure natural bitumen is known as Gilsonite Industrial grade. It used to make asphalt floor tiles, storage battery boxes, paints, black varnishes. Also used in hot underground piping, waterproof coatings, wire insulation, linoleum and floor tiles, paving, low grade rubber compounds, dark photogravure inks, solvent-free seam sealers in automobiles. Furthermore, it uses in oil-drilling, foundry, explosive, and nuclear graphite industries.
Natural asphalt and fossil resin are formed by evaporation crude petroleum. That includes chemical reactions such as oxidation and polymerization.
Gilsonite, found in Utah/Colorado, Virginia, and Iran consists 85% carbon, 10% hydrogen, and 2.5% nitrogen..
Maximum water and weather resistance is obtained by using a paint containing gilsonite coat and gas-proofed tung or oiticica oil without, adding other drying oil. Found that, combination usable, it is difficult to brush, and it is preferred to add a viscosity reducing drying oil.
Other drying oils such as linseed, soya bean, sunflower seed, hemp seed, menhaden, or sardine oil also uses instead of the perilla oil. However, ithas considerably better drying properties than the other oils mentioned.
Gilsonite paint, when fluxed with raw tung or oiticica oil, gives an unstable liquid, that is, one which will take on excessive body when aging, and one which is not gas-proof.
On the other hand, when we fluxe the gilsonite coat with tung or oiticicaoils and heat-treat with the additions of gums or resins in the ordinary fashion, the resulting paint becomes full of check marks and deteriorates rapidly, particularly upon exposure.
The use of the present type of oils, however, results in a paint which does not take on excessive body upon aging and at the same time does not check and deteriorate rapidly upon exposure.
A paint consisting essentially of 20 gallons of petroleum solvent and 10 gallons of linseed oil,10 gallons turpentine, pounds of Gilsonite pigment, 4 gallons varnish mixture consisting of 17.8% pentaerythritol rosin ester, 30.8% dehydrated castor oil, 1.4% of a mixture of lead.
Especially Gilsonite(natural bitumen) is widely used as the primary carbon black wetting agent for black news inks, headset, toner inks. PUB-LTD Gilsonite Resin competes advantageously with hydrocarbon resins, phenolic resins.
We especially discover that a synthetic flux oil can contain and deliver asphaltites such as gilsonite more easily to an asphalt to improve its properties.
The synthetic flux oil includes the asphaltite and a carrier oil.
Because carrier oil`s nature, synthetic flux oil need to heated during mixing and entry to asphalt.
We disclose the Gilsonite Industrial cement compositions which utilize petroleum asphalt, natural bitumen, a reactive oil and an elastomer.
These compositions produce superior Gilsonite cement that can give low viscosity during application followed by high viscosity, toughness and tenacity after curing on the highway.
Shove resistance is resistance to permanent, longitudinal displacement of a localized area of the pavement surface caused by traffic pushing against the pavement.
Heavy hydrocarbon that can be derived from, without limitation, natural asphalt (Gilsonite), shale asphalt, bottoms from a solvent deasphalting process, hard asphalt or blown asphalt, stiff refined asphalt, a flux. Asphalt is usually the base ingredient for the primer and the binder.
Actully primer can be asphalt, fibers, processing agent, polymeric or elastomeric additive, or asphalt-derived. Actually primer melts to aggregate. Asphalt binders without polymers are referred to as “neat”. Fibers including but not limited to, mineral or cellulose.
In addition, processing agent including but not limited to, oligiomeric wax, carboxilated, derivative of oligiomeric wax.
Gilsonite Industrial is an additive for foundry sand prebends providing reduced smoke and other emissions.
The additive comprising a mixture iron oxide and highly volatile carbonaceous material, metallurgical coke. It uses as one quarter of the foundry sand prebend, the other three quarters consisting essentially of clays.
