Oxidized Bitumen 115/15:

Oxidized Bitumen 115/15 is made by either continuous or Staggered Blowing Process. Heated Bitumen penetration under controlled environment is blown with air which controls the oil content in bitumen while it oxidized. Different grades for suited uses produced are designated by two numbers to indicate mid-points of their softening point and penetration ranges.

The manufacturing product used to make oxidized roofing asphalts in which air is blown through an asphalt flux. An exothermic oxidation reaction occurs, yielding an asphalt that is harder, more viscous, less volatile, and less temperature-susceptible than the asphalt flux used as the feed-stock to the process.

Asphalt treated by blowing air through it at elevated temperatures to produce physical properties required for the industrial use of the final product. Oxidized asphalts are used in roofing operations, pipe coating, under-sealing for Portland cement concrete pavements, uses, membrane envelopes, some paving-grade mixes, and the manufacture of paints.

Coating asphalt: An air-blown or oxidized asphalt used to manufacture roofing materials used in a variety of roofing systems such as asphalt shingles, polymer-modified bitumen roofing, reinforcing and under-layment felts, and roll roofing products.

Oxidized Bitumen 115/15 Uses:

Oxidized asphalt 115/15 specially uses in the chemical, fuel, paints, lacquers, varnishes, paper-pulp-board, textile processing, road construction, pavement ,crack seal also in repairmen, civil works, roofing, construction industries, sealing and insulating buildings, adhesive, construction materials additive, dust-binding, coating, insulating and impregnating agent, make rubber and plastic products. The blown asphalt 115/15 products are for paving, roofing.

Also used in asphalt based paints for corrosion protection of metals, in lining public works structures, adhesives in electrical laminates, base for synthetic turf.

However typical uses for oxidized asphalt 105/15 include roofing, pipe coating, Portland cement pavement, hydraulic applications, paint manufacturing.

 

Application of Oxidized Bitumen 115-15 

The Oxidised BITUMEN should be heated double temprature against the softening point, and this is because of  ablility to have flow and viscosity.

Therefore gel and gel types by traditional rheology index such as complex flow, asphalt aging index, plastic flow, penetration index, ductility at 25C and correlation of asphaltene aromaticity with H/C ratio. So and so gel type blown asphalt can be used on paving, while gel type asphalt can be used on roofing and metal coating. In industry the majority of gel type of asphalt were produced by air blown in s or so gel type of asphalt.

• Oxidized bitumen packed in 25 or 50Kg Craft bag.

• Blown aphalt packed in 25 or 50Kg carton box.
